8 Step Carpet Cleaning Process
1) Pre-Inspection & Interview
We will do a thorough walk through with you and ask you about specific spots and stains. Proper diagnoses of any stains will aid in the success of the spot and stain removal. During the interview, we will ask you about any specific areas of concern that you may have, as well as explain what to expect. That way you will not be disappointed.
2) Equipment Sanitization
We properly sanitize all of our cleaning equipment at the end of every job. Everything from the cleaning tools, wands, hoses to our shoes. The reason we do this is to avoid cross contamination between houses.
3) Pre-Vaccum
Before we start, we will vaccum all of the areas that we will be cleaning. Dry soil makes up 74%-79% of the soil in your carpet according to the IICRC. This will remove the majority of the dry soil and debris, which will make it more effective when we begin to apply moisture.
4) Pre-Spray & Spot Removal
This is usually what will differentiate the good technicians from the great ones. Knowing what to use, when, for how long, and how, will determine the results at the end of the cleaning.
5) Agitation & Dwell Time
This step is accomplished through different methods. Agitation can be done through the use of brushes or a rotary tool. This helps the cleaning agents penetrate deeper into the carpet fibers, which will allow the cleaning agents to work more efficiently and effectively.
6) Hot Water Extraction
This is the step that is most commonly referred to as “Steam Cleaning.” In this step, extremely hot water is injected into the carpet at high pressure and then extracted through the vaccum. Some chemicals need to be neutralized after they have been presprayed. In these cases, an additive will be mixed with the fresh water to avoid browning.
7) Carpet Grooming
Next, we groom the carpet to help the carpet dry faster. It will also give your carpet a more professional finished look.
8) Post Inspection Walk Through
We have a final walk through form that the technician will fill out with you to ensure that nothing has been missed, and to make sure you are 100% Satisfied.
